Over the years many people have tried to game the system by creating content that is stuffed full of keywords in the hope that repeating their keyword phrases over and over again will in some way get them to the top spot of Google. While this tactic may have worked in the 90’s and early 2000’s it is time to put this to bed and stop creating content that is written solely for the search engines. These search engines have evolved and now recognise and reward natural language so the best piece of advice is to write naturally and for humans. Search engines use links to crawl the web. Crawlers will flow from links between the internal individual pages on your website and they will crawl the links between different websites. To a certain extent, it is not possible to attract robots. Google will
visit your site often if the site has excellent content that is updated frequently
and cited often by other sites. Sites with dense design or intricate layouts that are scant on textual information will be unsuccessful in their SEO campaigns.
I’d rather have a more relevant link with low authority. I’d hope that was better for traffic, but I’d not really expect it to have the same effect on rankings as a higher authority link with lower relevance. Its as easy as KS2 Maths or something like that... backlink into a quantifiable signal using the link score. It does this by assessing the quality of every incoming link and the total links to your website. So many people overlook it. There is no single place to focus when trying to optimize a website for search engines, so it is important to make updates and upgrades to various parts of a website at regular intervals, not spending too much time or effort on any particular aspect of the website while other features get ignored or underserved.
Types of site changes brought on by gateway sites
Before pages can be optimized, research must be done to determine which keywords to target. This involves finding relevant keywords, determining their popularity, assessing the amount of competition, and deciding which keywords can be best supported with quality content. A meta description is a short paragraph which is displayed under a title tag on the SERP (see screen above). A meta-description gives you the opportunity to introduce your brand before a searcher pays a visit to your site and actually sees the products that you offer. "The more, the better" saying doesn’t go for links. At least not as long as "more" means links you buy without checking if they are risky for your backlink profile or not. You’d better aim for fewer high-quality links, then for thousands of links that bring no value to your backlink profile. Weak or risky backlinks won’t help your rankings at all. It can go even worst. These links can get you a Google penalty and severe (if not 100%) loss of organic traffic. Some Google searches show a descriptive box at the top of the search results. Google calls these boxes 'featured snippets' because unlike their regular web listings, the page's description (the 'snippet') comes first.
Establish intuitive information architecture by considering comment spam
By providing clear, deep, easy to find content on your website, Google is more likely to index and show your content in search results. Websites that are thin on content, showing mostly ads or affiliate links, or that otherwise redirect visitors away to other sites quickly tend not to rank well. Gut, brain, intuition, emotional intelligence, whatever you want to call it, humans can’t be beat for determining relevance. Many times people set unrealistic expectations for themselves. They think generating content for an entire website will take a few hours, when it really takes a few weeks. This incorrect assumption creates frustration and the frustration creates procrastination. Should more importance be given to quality for search marketing?
Building a strong site architecture and providing clear navigation will help search engines index your site quickly and easily. This will also, more importantly, provide visitors with a good experience of using your site and encourage repeat visits. It’s worth considering that Google is also increasingly paying attention to user experience, including mobile optimisation and site speed. Google's A great example that I like to use is Oxon AA. algorithms try to mimic the decisions of real people. The better your links work with real people, the better the links will work with Google's algorithms. Mobile browsers will by default try to show pages at desktop screen widths which will be hard to read and require manual zooming by the viewer. Your potential visitors rely on Google because they know it provides high-value results for their search queries.
